Type: Compatible with LEGO® sets Material: Eco-friendly ABS plastic Instruction: For the LEGO Red London Telephone Box 21347 With 1460 pieces, this set is set to hit the shelves on February 1st for LEGO Insiders and on the 4th for everyone else, at a cost of 115 EUR/USD. Opening the box reveals 11 numbered bags, 2 loose plates, the instructions, and a sticker sheet. The journey begins with Bag 1—a test of patience with 56 1x1 tiles, but trust me, it's worth it. Designer Insights: The manual introduces the fan designer, John Cramp, who has a track record of four successful Ideas projects. We learn about the iconic status of these phone boxes in the UK, although Balazs questions the term "phone kiosks." Build Process: The build involves layering tiles to form the base, constructing a red wall with windows in Bags 2 and 3. It might seem repetitive, but Balazs finds relaxation in the process—his wife, not so much. The set offers two interior options: classic and modern. Stickers add Easter eggs and personal references. The classic phone design includes a coin, and the door assembly, while a bit tricky, works perfectly. Lights, Camera, Action: Bag 6 introduces the light brick—yes, it lights up! With printed crown bricks and a creative assembly, the upper part of the telephone box takes shape. The set also includes a LEGO mosaic disguised as the base. Balazs covers the creation of bollards, fences, and the street sign. He highlights the intricate design of the fence, which adds to the overall charm of the set. Bags 8 and 9 complete the base, and attention to detail is evident. Flower pots, a lamppost with a crystal ball, and the phone box itself wrap up the build. The new variant, while similar, has its own unique touches, including more LEGO references and fan designer Easter eggs. Comparing the set to the original submission, some changes were made, but authenticity is maintained. The reduction in size makes sense for affordability, but many elements from the initial design are retained. Display Options: With a scale of about 10.5:1, the set complements other LEGO vehicles, like the Mini Cooper. The Red London Telephone Box stands among other Ideas sets like the Jazz Quartet, BTS Dynamite, The Office, or the Fender Stratocaster. The aesthetic but finds the build somewhat repetitive. The mobile phone stand is a quirky addition, and overall, the set offers a visually appealing piece of London.
